Helmet obligation
In the Netherlands, all moped riders and any passengers must wear a helmet from 1 January 2023. The government expects this measure to reduce the number of road deaths and road injuries among moped riders. A light moped is allowed to drive at a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour and can be recognized by a blue license plate.
As of January 1, 2023, wearing an approved moped/motorcycle helmet or an approved speed pedelec helmet on a light moped is legally required everywhere in the Netherlands and you can be fined €100 if you do not wear a helmet.
Of course there are enough helmets to choose from, but the choice of really cool helmets is far too low in our opinion. And we came up with something for that.
